Keep your hair regularly trimmed to get rid of split ends and brittle ends. This will help your hair grow and retain moisture, so the hair can thrive.

Avoid using heat at all costs. Flat irons and the blow dryer will strip the moisture out of your hair quickly. Once the hair is dry and brittle it really takes while for natural oils to re-moisturize your hair.

At night, cover your hair with a satin bonnet or silk scarf to retain moisture while you sleep. Sleeping on cotton will dry the moisture right out of your hair.

Use a moisturizing cap. The cap supports opening the cuticles and allows products to be absorbed by the hair to hydrate thirsty dry strands. When teamed up with a conditioner, the moisturizing cap helps the product penetrate your tresses.
